Colonial Birdhouses have their origins in birdhouses that were made as gifts for friends and relatives over the years. They were so popular that in 1990, a local hobby store added these birdhouses to their inventory, in kit form. From those beginnings Colonial Birdhouses has grown into a broad line of quality birdhouses and feeders kits, widely available in craft and hobby stores, gift shops and on-line at YankeeHarvest.com.
Colonial Birdhouses are patterned after traditional New England building designs. The kits produce high quality, finely detailed birdhouses and feeders that are fun to assemble and promote many years of bird watching enjoyment. Assembled or in kit form, they make wonderful gifts and are an especially nice way to dress up the yard while providing shelter for many varieties of birds.
Colonial Birdhouses are not only attractive, but are fully functional. Kit building materials have been selected to withstand the harshest of New England elements, from driving rain to heavy snows. Overall dimensions and entry holes are sized to attract specific varieties of birds. The houses are ventilated and have removable bases to allow for easy cleaning at the end of the season.
